Our
extensive range of cables covers everything from simple equipment wire cut to
length and looms with 100+ connections – through to bespoke cables designed to
suit a particular application.
Creating
these special - often complicated
- cables can involve using more flexible cores, unusual mixes of PVC and/or
rubber, adjusting the amount of copper per core or adding external braiding to
make the cable easier to handle in outdoor conditions. Other
options include flame retardant insulation, anti-microbial coatings (currently
used for medical applications) and anti-fungal coatings.
Stortech
cables are widely used by a large number of household names so you can buy with
confidence. During the past twenty years we have supplied millions of cables to
prestige markets and gained third party approval from major brands such as
Motorola, Nokia, Sony and Nissan. Our cables are also particularly popular with
the mobility sector where we are again the preferred choice for the market
leaders.
As
an example of our customers’ confidence in the quality and reliability of our
product, we ship direct to line on thousands of critical parts. We are proud of
our A level supplier status and have won awards for our service.
Cables
can be tested from an AQL level test up to 100% inspection including test
boards with the mating half for each connection. The level of testing depends
upon the complexity of the product and the customer’s requirement. Factory bend
and flex testers allow us to fully test our own cables as well as providing a
reliable comparison with others.
In
house tooling enables us to develop bespoke connectors and housings offering
customers maximum flexibility. We also have cables with in house tooled
connectors that have achieved IP65 ratings.
Our
technical expertise allows us to recommend improvements to moulded connectors
and strain reliefs that are proven to reduce failures. In fact many of our
customers now involve us from start of a concept to take advantage of our
knowledge at an early stage. We can often make suggestions to improve the
design, ease of manufacture and/or use which may result in a reduction in cost.
